What do you like most about being part of the nandin community?

Everyone is at different stages of their business journey and they all have valuable advice that can benefit everyone. Having the ANSTO team around to bounce ideas off and get feedback from has been incredible.

What’s your favourite space in the nandin innovation centre?

The Create Lab media room. Setup to “walk in and record”, makes it easy for founders to produce great quality media content in a dedicated space.

What’s your top tip for other deep-tech entrepreneurs?

Lots of people will tell you that they like your idea, but that can be a long way from a client signing on the dotted line and buying your product.  My tip is – find a real problem and match it with a great solution. A system or product that provides a small improvement in efficiency or process probably won’t be enough to get the sale.

What’s your business pitch in 30 words or less?

What do you like most about being part of the nandin community?

I love that I can be in an environment with other science and technology professionals who have new and exciting ideas and innovations. Everyone is supportive and no idea is too crazy!

What’s your favourite space in the nandin innovation centre?

I really like my office space because, as well as being the engine room where it all happens with MAS and LabLaw, I can gaze out on the bushland surrounding the building and think through solutions to problems presented by clients and plan the next stages of my 3 businesses using the many creative spaces and whiteboards.

What’s your top tip for other deep-tech entrepreneurs?

Be brave! Deep tech entrepreneurship requires quite a deal of risk and guts, and you’ll get things not going to plan as you try to commercialise your ideas. Places like nandin can support you through the good and the bad because we’re all facing similar challenges.
